From the other side it is quite minimalistic and elegant. Many of you have been waiting for a long time for this pattern. This time my inspiration was the oddity of runes. Galdrastafir is their magical modification which has a duty to create symbols of a specific power, initiated at the turn of the 16th and 17th century in Icelandic Galdrabók.
I decided that the theme would be two magnificient talismans Ægishjálmur and Vegvisir.
Ægishjálmur is a runic protection against what is visible and invisible. It is a talisman for warriors. It can support in self-development and in travelling inside yourself.
Vegvisir is a compass which guide us through our life and help finding the way to the safe heaven. Formerly the Vikings engraved it on the bow of the longboat before their sea expedition.
I decided to sketch them and weave in a blackness clouded by silver of the moon to emphasise the majesty those amazing powers which are related to everything what is the most important for me – Family. The safe heaven which is a unique value.
Every parent is sometimes a warrior who can do anything to protect his pack. Anything to keep their children safe. And the home flame gives him consolation and sens of stability.
